Burt Point


Burt Point (50˚50'00" 126˚40'00" N side of Broughton I, E end of Queen Charlotte Str). James Burt (1869–1956) was a Nflder and a veteran of the W coast pelagic sealing industry, where he worked as a hunter on the schooner Mermaid. He was later employed by the Canadian Pacific Navigation Co and Island Tug & Barge. In the 1901 Victoria census, Burt is listed as a winch driver aboard CPN’s Amur. He died at Victoria.
