Buckle Point


Buckle Point (53˚16'00" 129˚23'00" W side of Fin I, SE of Pitt I). Named in 1950 after Wing Cdr Arthur Buckle, of Victoria, who died in a flying accident on Nov 23, 1944, at the age of 44. He was the RCAF’s senior personnel staff officer at No 3 Training Command HQ, Montreal, and was awarded the MBE posthumously in 1945. Buckle is buried at St Stephen’s Cemetery in Saanichton, N of Victoria.
