Browning Passage


Browning Passage (49˚08'00" 125˚52'00" Between Meares I and Esowista Peninsula, SE of Tofino, Clayoquot Sd). Rev Arthur Browning (b 1830) was a British Methodist missionary who came out to Victoria in 1859 and was posted first to Nanaimo and then to Ft Hope (where he married Mary Ann Orchard in 1861), New Westminster (1863–64 and 1868) and Victoria (1865–67). He returned to England in 1870.
