Brigade Bay


Brigade Bay (49˚29'00" 123˚20'00" E side of Gambier I, Howe Sd, NW of Vancouver). The Boy’s Brigade, an international non-denominational Christian youth organization, camped on this bay in the 1930s and ’40s and tried, unsuccessfully, to purchase the site as a permanent retreat. The name was suggested in 1945 by Vancouver city archivist Maj J S Matthews and adopted the following year.
