Boukind Bay


Boukind Bay (52˚27'20" 127˚56'05" N end of Florence Peninsula, NW of Ocean Falls), Boukind Bluff (52˚27'00" 127˚55'00" N side of Roscoe Inlet, NW of Ocean Falls). Peter Boukind was one of the original Norwegian settlers to colonize the Bella Coola valley in 1894. He served as the colony’s vice-president, and on the death of its leader, Christian Saugstad, in 1897, briefly acted as president until Christian Carlson took over.
