Bischof Islands


Bischof Islands (52˚34'00" 131˚33'00" Off SW end of Lyell I, QCI). German chemist and geologist Karl Gustav Bischof (1792–1870) was a professor at Bonn Univ. He was noted for his work on the inflammable power of gas and the role of water in geological processes. Named by George Dawson of the Geological Survey of Canada in 1878.
