Archer Point


Archer Point (52 ̊58'00" 132 ̊16'00" S side of Hibben I, W of Moresby I, QCI). Archibald Leslie Archer, MD, was assistant surgeon aboard HMS Thetis, based at Esquimalt 1851–53. In 1852 the Thetis surveyed this part of the QCI and preserved order during the short-lived QCI gold frenzy; the ship’s master, George Moore, is believed to have named this feature.
