Annieville Channel


Annieville Channel (49 ̊11'00" 122 ̊55'00" SW Fraser R, SE side of Annacis I). The N Delta community of Annieville was supposedly named for Annie Symes, who waded ashore there in 1871 while searching, with her husband James Symes, for a good site for a salmon cannery. One of the earliest canneries on the Fraser R was subsequently built at this location on a very ancient First Nation village site.
