Admiralty Point

Admiralty Point (49˚18'00" 122˚55'00" SE entrance to Indian Arm, Burrard Inlet, E of Vancouver). This area, part of Belcarra Regional Park, was reserved by naval surveyors in the 19th century because it would have been a useful site for a fort to protect Port Moody, proposed terminus of the CPR. It was known locally as the “Admiralty reserve.” The name was suggested in 1940 by Maj J S Matthews of Vancouver City Archives.
