Wheeler, Arthur Oliver


WHEELER, Arthur Oliver, surveyor, mountaineer (b 1 May 1860, Lyrath, Ireland; d 20 Mar 1945, Banff, AB). He was a land surveyor, trained in the use of PHOTOGRAPHY in map-making, who was closely associated with the ROCKY MTS for most of his career. In his work as a surveyor he became a skilled mountain climber.
