Weir, George Moir


WEIR, George Moir, educator, politician (b 10 May 1885, Miami, MB; d 4 Dec 1949, Vancouver). He was teaching at UBC's new department of education in 1924 when he and J.H. Putman, an Ottawa school inspector, were appointed co-chairs of a royal commission into public EDUCATION in the province (see PUTMAN–WEIR COMMISSION).
