VERIGIN, Peter Vasilevich "Peter the Lordly," Doukhobor leader (b 29 June 1859, Slavyanka, Russia; d 29 Oct 1924, near Grand Forks). He became leader of the DOUKHOBORS in Russia in 1887 and was immediately arrested by the Tsarist police.
