VANCOUVER TUGBOAT COMPANY LTD traces its roots back to 1898, when Harry Jones chartered the small steam tug On Time. Jones retired in 1919 and for a while the company was inactive. It was re-established in 1924 by 2 of Harry's children, Harold and Ruth. During the 1930s the company built up its scow and barge operations, especially the barging of SAWMILL waste to PULP mills. When Harold Jones died in 1957 he was succeeded by Arthur Lindsay, who in turn was succeeded by Capt J.C.F. Stewart. More...
