Vancouver Symphony Orchestra


VANCOUVER SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA (VSO) was established in 1919 by Henry Green, a mysterious, publicity-shy musician from New Zealand, and Mary Isabella Rogers, widow of the sugar baron B.T. ROGERS. Green organized the concerts while Rogers organized financial support, and over the next 2½ years the new orchestra gave 27 performances.
