Straiton

STRAITON, a farming settlement on the side of Sumas Mt 7 km northeast of ABBOTSFORD in the FRASER VALLEY (see AGRICULTURE), is named after Thomas B. Straiton, an early settler who opened a general store here with his brother. A PIPELINE runs nearby and Straiton is the site of several enormous oil storage tanks.
