ROY, Reginald H., military historian (b 1922, New Glasgow, NS). He has written 12 books, including regimental histories, biographies and military studies, among them 1944: The Canadians in Normandy. During WWII he served as an officer with the Cape Breton Highlanders in Italy and Holland. He graduated from UBC in 1951 with an MA and later completed his doctoral studies at the Univ of Washington.
