QUEEN CHARLOTTE ISLANDS are an archipelago of several hundred islands and islets covering 9,596 sq km on the North Coast across HECATE STRAIT from PRINCE RUPERT. The 2 largest islands are Graham in the north and Moresby in the south; most of the others are small and uninhabited. The archipelago is roughly 300 km long and 85 km across at its greatest width.
