Haida


HAIDA  () are the FIRST NATIONS people of the QUEEN CHARLOTTE ISLANDS, which they call Haida Gwaii, where human occupation dates back at least 7,000 years (see ARCHAEOLOGY). Their language, spoken in 2 main dialects (Skidegate and Masset), is an isolate, not known to be related to any other language (see FIRST NATIONS LANGUAGES).
