PRATT, Walter "Babe," hockey player (b 7 Jan 1916, Stoney Mountain, MB; d 16 Dec 1988, Vancouver). His 12 NHL seasons (1935–47) with the NY Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins earned him 2 Stanley Cups (1940, 1945), a 1944 Hart Trophy as the league's most valuable player and a scoring record for defencemen that stood for 20 years.
