Port Alice


PORT ALICE, village, pop 821 (2006), lies at the head of Neroutsos Inlet, an arm of QUATSINO SOUND on the west coast of VANCOUVER ISLAND. The original townsite began with the construction of a pulp mill (see PULP AND PAPER) in 1918 by the Whalen Pulp and Paper Co. Alice was the daughter of the founder.
