Owen, Walter Stewart


OWEN, Walter Stewart, lawyer, lt gov 1973–78 (b 26 Jan 1904, Atlin; d 13 Jan 1981, Vancouver). He was born in the ATLIN jail, son of a BC PROVINCIAL POLICE officer who later became warden at OAKALLA PRISON FARM. After studying at UBC law school, he was called to the bar in 1928 and set up in practice in VANCOUVER.
