Okanagan Mission


OKANAGAN MISSION was founded in 1860 by Charles PANDOSY and Pierre Richard, OBLATE missionaries, south of KELOWNA near where Mission Crk enters the east side of OKANAGAN LK. The mission was a base for itinerant priests travelling through the OKANAGAN VALLEY, and Father Pandosy fostered farming and orcharding (see TREE FRUITS) there.
