Notre Dame University of Nelson


NOTRE DAME UNIVERSITY OF NELSON opened as Notre Dame College in the city on 6 Sept 1950. Sponsored by the ROMAN CATHOLIC Diocese of Nelson, it offered classes in a former bakery building until moving in 1954 to a new facility erected by faculty and students. In Mar 1963 it obtained the province's second degree-granting charter.
