NICHOLSON, John Robert, lawyer, politician, lt gov 1968–73 (b 1 Dec 1901, Newcastle, NB; d 8 Oct 1983, Vancouver). After graduating from Dalhousie Univ law school, he moved in 1924 to VANCOUVER, where he became a prominent lawyer and an active Liberal. When WWII began he went to Ottawa as a deputy controller in the department of munitions and supplies.
