Nelson Bros Fisheries Ltd

NELSON BROS FISHERIES LTD was created in 1929 by Richard and Norman Nelson, fishers on the west coast of VANCOUVER ISLAND. They purchased a FRASER R cannery in 1933 and the next year took control of CEEPEECEE. They also bought plants at MASSET and PRINCE RUPERT, establishing themselves as one of the most important fish companies on the coast. BC PACKERS secretly bought the company in 1960 and dissolved it as a separate entity in 1969. See also SALMON CANNING.
