Mitlenatch Island


MITLENATCH ISLAND, 1.55 sq km, is a low-lying rock at the north end of GEORGIA STRAIT south of CAMPBELL RIVER. A provincial nature PARK, it is a refuge for a variety of nesting seabirds, including GULLS, pigeon GUILLEMOTS and pelagic CORMORANTS. SEALS and SEA LIONS disport themselves on the rocky shores.
