MILLER, Daniel Arthur, millwright, politician, premier 25 Aug 1999–24 Feb 2000 (b 24 Dec 1944, Port Alice). After completing high school in N VANCOUVER and a year of university study, he moved in 1964 to PRINCE RUPERT, where he became a millwright at the pulp mill (see PULP AND PAPER). During the NDP government's tenure from 1972 to 1975 he worked as an assistant to a CABINET minister, then resumed his work at the mill.
