McKelvie, Bruce Alistair


McKELVIE, Bruce Alistair, journalist, historian (b 1889, Vancouver; d 1960). He was apprenticed to a printer when he was 10 years old and later became one of BC's leading journalists as managing editor of the Victoria Colonist (later TIMES-COLONIST) and feature writer for the Vancouver PROVINCE. He was also recognized as an early authority on BC history, writing books that were among the first to appear on the subject.
