Marguerite

MARGUERITE, a ranching district (see CATTLE INDUSTRY) in the CARIBOO, is the site of a tiny reaction ferry (see BIG BAY) across the FRASER R 62 km north of WILLIAMS LAKE. An aerial passenger tramway runs when the river freezes. The settlement, located on the BC RAIL line and Hwy 97, was named after a local TSILHQOT'IN woman.
