Lejac


LEJAC  () is a Nadleh Whut'en (see DAKELH) RESERVE on the south shore of FRASER LK, 50 km west of VANDERHOOF. It was the site of a RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL operated by the ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH from 1922 to 1976, named for Father Jean Marie Lejacq, an OBLATE missionary. A large SAWMILL is the main employer. The grave site of Rose PRINCE attracts many pilgrims annually....
