LANE, Patrick "Pat," writer (b 26 Mar 1939, Nelson; d 7 Mar 2019, Victoria). During the 1960s and 1970s he worked at many jobs in western Canada, from ditchdigger to logger, catskinner and industrial accountant. His early poetry placed the Interior and the high country of the North in the Canadian literary imagination. His Selected Poems (1974) garnered a national audience for his poetry.
