KNIGHT, Harry Upperton, photographer (b 6 July 1873, Tillington, England; d 28 Dec 1973, Victoria). Prior to immigrating to Canada in 1910 he operated a portrait studio in Cranleigh, England. He sold real estate in VANCOUVER until 1917, when he moved to VICTORIA and established a commercial portrait studio at 715 Fort St. For the next 47 years he documented the capital's early history and citizens in his "camera sketches and camera portraits" (see PHOTOGRAPHY).
