Keenleyside, Hugh Llewellyn


KEENLEYSIDE, Hugh Llewellyn, diplomat, public servant (b 7 July 1898, Toronto; d 27 Sept 1992, Saanich). He moved to BC with his family, attended school in VANCOUVER and graduated from UBC in 1920. After graduate work in the US he taught history at various American universities before returning to UBC. He tired of academic life and in 1928 joined Canada's Department of External Affairs.
