Kaffka, Peter


KAFFKA, Peter, architect (b 1899, Budapest, Hungary; d 1992, Vancouver). A graduate of the Royal Hungarian Joseph Polytechnical Univ in his native Budapest, he immigrated to Canada at the end of WWII. After 5 years in Ontario he moved to VANCOUVER in 1950 and worked for W.K. Noppe and Sharp & Thompson Berwick Pratt before establishing his own practice in 1954. The Imperial Apartments on Bidwell St and the GROUSE MOUNTAIN Chalet are 2 of his most prominent designs. He retired in 1983. See also...
