Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Crossing


IRONWORKERS MEMORIAL SECOND NARROWS CROSSING across BURRARD INLET in VANCOUVER was completed in 1960. A bridge across this part of the inlet was first erected in 1925 to handle both car and rail traffic. After a series of accidents, the original bridge was knocked out by the log barge Pacific Gatherer in 1930 and was not replaced until 1934.
