HYNDMAN, Cecil, bird enthusiast (b 11 Oct 1911, Edmonton; d 17 Apr 1997, Victoria). After brief stints at agricultural college and medical school, he joined the CBC in 1932 as a sound effects specialist, the network's first. During WWII he worked for the National Film Board, then moved to VICTORIA with his new wife Adele.
