Hoffmeister, Bertram Meryl


HOFFMEISTER, Bertram Meryl, soldier, forest executive (b 15 May 1907, Vancouver; d 4 Dec 1999, Vancouver). He was one of Canada's outstanding battlefield commanders in WWII. In 1930 he joined Canadian White Pine Co as a salesperson, beginning a long career in the FOREST INDUSTRY and a long association with the owner of the company, H.R. MacMILLAN.
