HERRING, Frances, teacher, writer (b 23 Dec 1851, King's Lynn, England; d 16 Nov 1916, New Westminster). She immigrated to BC in 1874, married a cousin and settled in LANGLEY, where she taught school from 1876 to 1878. The following years were devoted to raising her 8 children, but as they grew she turned to journalism, charitable work and the WOMEN'S SUFFRAGE movement.
