HERITAGE SALMON LTD is one of the top fish farming companies in BC. It was owned by George Weston Ltd until 2005 when it was acquired by a Norwegian company, Cermaq, and now operates in BC as Mainstream Canada. It owns SALMON farms in BC, New Brunswick, Maine and Chile and sells about $300 million in farmed salmon annually, mainly in the US. See also AQUACULTURE, FIN FISH.
