Hart Highway


HART HIGHWAY (Hwy 97) runs 406 km northeast from PRINCE GEORGE across the ROCKY MTS to DAWSON CREEK in the PEACE R country. Construction began in 1945 and after many delays was completed on 1 July 1952. The highway is named for John HART, who was premier from 1941 to 1947. See also ROADS AND HWYS.
