Garden Bay

GARDEN BAY is a small community in PENDER HARBOUR, north of SECHELT on the SUNSHINE COAST. It is named for a BC surveyor general. In 1930 the COLUMBIA COAST MISSION opened St Mary's Hospital on the waterfront; it operated until 1965, when hospital services were centralized in Sechelt, and the building later became a restaurant and inn. A MARINE PARK and a variety of services for boaters are located here.
