DUNSMUIR, James, industrialist and politician, premier 15 June 1900–21 Nov 1902, lt gov 1906–09 (b 8 July 1851, Fort Vancouver, WA; d 6 June 1920, Cowichan). The son of the COAL mine operator Robert DUNSMUIR, he entered and eventually took charge of the family business.
