Dilworth, Ira

DILWORTH, Ira, broadcaster (b 25 Mar 1894, High Bluff, MB; d 23 Nov 1962, Vancouver). He grew up in the OKANAGAN VALLEY and VICTORIA, where he was a schoolteacher from 1915 to 1926 and a high school principal from 1926 to 1934. While in Victoria he befriended the artist Emily CARR, whose career as a writer he later promoted and for whom he acted as literary trustee.
