Dawson's Landing

DAWSON'S LANDING is a small floating community on the west side of RIVERS INLET. Established in 1924 as a fisheries department station, it became the supply centre for canning, trapping and LOGGING operations in the inlet. Named for Jimmy and Jean Dawson, the original storekeepers, it remains a local commercial centre. See also FISHING, COMMERCIAL; FLOATHOUSES.
