DAVIDSON, John "Botany John," botanist (b 6 Aug 1878, Aberdeen, Scotland; d 10 Feb 1970, Vancouver). As a teenager he went to work as an assistant in the botany department at Univ of Aberdeen, where he remained for 18 years.
