DAVIDSON, Florence (Edenshaw), Haida elder (b 15 Sept 1896, Masset; d Dec 1993, Masset). Her father was the HAIDA artist Charles EDENSHAW. At age 14 she married Robert Davidson Sr, a logger, fisher and trapper, and together they had 13 children. In the 1950s she began making button blankets, the first Haida woman in the modern period to resume this craft, and weaving traditional baskets and hats.
