Dagg, Lyall


DAGG, Lyall, curler (b 27 July 1929, Tisdale, SK; d 14 May 1975, Kelowna). One of the most competitive and intense athletes in BC history, he was the coach and skip of the successful Vancouver CURLING Club of the 1960s. Dagg began curling with his family at VANCOUVER's Pacific Curling Rink in 1953. By 1961 he had put together his rink of Leo Hebert, Fred Britton and Barry Naimark and in 1964 they won the Canadian Brier title in Charlottetown and the world title in Calgary.
