Carson

CARSON, a tiny settlement and crossing at the US border 5 km southwest of GRAND FORKS, was established on the Vancouver, Victoria & Eastern Rwy (see GREAT NORTHERN RWY) in the 1890s. Named after Isobella Carson McLaren, mother of local MP J. Carson, it was formerly known as Kettle River.
