Cariboo Mountains


CARIBOO MOUNTAINS are a northern range of the COLUMBIA MTS forming the eastern edge of the CARIBOO district, dividing the Interior plateau from the ROCKY MT TRENCH. The FRASER R swings in a great arc north around the top of the range before flowing south via PRINCE GEORGE toward the coast. The range, which contains the headwaters of many of the most productive creeks of the GOLD RUSH era, lies along the eastern side of BOWRON LAKE and WELLS GRAY provincial parks.
