BURE, Pavel, hockey player (b 31 Mar 1971, Moscow, USSR). He was a teenage phenomenon playing in the Russian Elite League when the VANCOUVER CANUCKS drafted him in the sixth round of the 1989 NHL entry draft. Because of a bookkeeping error concerning his eligibility for the draft, a league controversy erupted.
